Six weeks ago Dr. Toman performed arthroscopic surgery on my left knee. For several months prior to that I was in almost constant pain, but I am now pain free, and I am so thankful for Dr. Toman and my physical therapist. FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS I HAVE HAD PAIN IN MY RIGHT HIP. IT STARTED AS A SLIGHT PAIN.THE X-RAYS INDICATED IT WAS “PASSIVE ARTHRITIS” AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE. IN THE PAST YEAR THE PAIN REALLY GOT BAD. MY PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR SUGGESTED I VISIT DR.TOMAN. FIRST WE TRIED A NEEDLE AND THERAPY. THE NEEDLE WORKED FOR ONE WEEK, WENT TO THERAPY FOR THREE WEEKS IT WASN’T HELPING. DR TOMAN TOLD ME ABOUT ARTHROSCOPIC HIP SURGERY. IT’S DONE AS AN OUTPATIENT PROCEDURE. I HAD THIS SURGERY DONE SIX WEEKS AGO,I WENT TO THERAPY TWICE A WEEK FOR THREE WEEKS. HOW CAN YOU MEASURE PAIN? WELL THE PAIN BEFORE THE SURGERY WAS 100% NOW IT’S 30% AND DROPPING. Arthritis ravished my hip. Walking became so painful I had to give up my favorite pastimes and almost became a couch potato. I went in to see Dr. Toman; he put my fears to rest immediately. Evaluation was as expected, surgery being my best option. Dr. Toman showed me x-rays, explained the surgery and that physical therapy would be necessary. From diagnosis to surgery to the start of rehab took only a matter of weeks. I am not yet 100%, but getting there. If not for Dr. Toman and his PT staff you would probably find me on my couch or in the recliner. Thank you Dr. Toman.

I have had hip pain from minimal to severe for 3 yrs. At times I could hardly walk. I could only get my doctor to give me Steroid injections. I finally got someone to listen to me. My doctor in Ft. Myers referred me to Dr. Toman after he attended a seminar Dr. Toman presented on Hip Preservation Surgery in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Toman even reviewed my MRI scan at the seminar. My doctor did not feel he was the one to do the surgery that I needed or even knew for sure what the exact problem was. When I met Dr. Toman, I felt confident he would help me finally get this pain resolved. It was hard to imagine how with 2 little incisions he could repair all that he did. I could not get anyone to try to do any surgery back home in Indiana. I was told the hip was just inflamed. I knew within 2 days after the outpatient hip arthroscopy procedure that I was “fixed”. It was uncomfortable initially, but nothing like how I had suffered for 3 yrs. I can’t thank him enough for making my life so much more liveable and believing in me as much as I did in him. Thank you so very much!!!

After an unsucessful right shoulder surgery by another surgeon I was referred to Dr. Toman by my primary medical physician, Dr.Melody Burt. I am now four months out from major right shoulder surgery and I’m not experiencing the horrific pains I had before seeing Dr.Toman. I still have time to go in healing from surgery, but I certainly feel the improvements. He is the best! Not only is he great at what he does, but he has a wonderful personality like no other. Coming from a young woman he is also handsome! If you want a great Dr. with impeccable surgical skills I would highly recommend Dr.Toman. Also, not to forget his staff…they are very friendly and courteous, too. He is the Doctor of my choice if I ever need surgery again. Thanks so much Dr. Toman!!

April 5th, 2011 I had my first knee replacement surgery by Dr. Toman. I had a lot of apprehension regarding surgery. I was delightfully surprised how well I was doing with my recovery. I was able to leave the hospital the second day after surgery. It is now 2 months post surgery and I am able to resume many of my normal activities. My husband and I are very appreciative of Dr. Toman’s outstanding surgical skills. He will always be number one orthopedic surgeon on my list. I have recommended him to many people.
